Indications
Paloxi Tablet is an antiemetic medication that is commonly used to treat nausea and vomiting caused by medical conditions such as stomach upset. It is also used to prevent nausea and vomiting from surgery, cancer drug therapy, or radiotherapy. Other side effects associated with cancer treatments will not be alleviated by Paloxi Tablet. It also has little effect on motion sickness-induced vomiting. You should take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
Pharmacology
Palonosetron is a 5-HT3 antagonist with a high affinity for this receptor but little or no affinity for others. Chemotherapeutic agents are thought to cause nausea and vomiting by causing serotonin to be released from enterochromaffin cells in the small intestine, which then activates 5-HT3 receptors on nerve terminals.
Administration & Dosage
Interaction
In controlled clinical trials, palonosetron injection was administered safely with corticosteroids, analgesics, antiemetics/antinauseants, antispasmodics, and anticholinergic agents. Palonosetron had no effect on the antitumor activity of cisplatin, cyclophosphamide, cytarabine, doxorubicin, or mitomycin C in murine tumor models.

Palonosetron is not recommended for patients who have a history of hypersensitivity to the drug or any of its ingredients.
